Dinosaurs, Ducks, and more Dinosaurs oh my!
Grayson and Eme: budding paletologists. His emphasis is in behavior, in particular that surrounding weaponry. Her emphasis is in asthetics, representaional drawings and rearing of young (who said there's no difference between boys and girls). I have to say of all the things that G & E have taken interest in this by far has been the coolest. When I was a kid dinosaurs were limited to a few species and very little data on that. Now it is unbelievable what they have discovered, what they have postulated, and the amount of information (and toys, clothes, dvds, etc) that is avaliable.
Grayson started off really taking an interest in the plant eaters (styracasaurus), as we are plant eaters ourself, but quickly fell in love with the good old carnivores (from pteradon, to carnotaurus, to allosaurus, to the current pyrorapter). And in typical Grayson fashion only the obscure would do. Okay raise your hand if you know what a pyrorapter is?
Eme stuck with the plant eaters for a much longer time. The parasaurapholus being the front runner, which she nicknamed the headhonkers. Though I think after losing many battles to her brother's dinosaurs she has decided that maybe the carnivores are where it is at, or at a minimum she has chosen plant eaters that can better defend themselves (pachycephalosaurus, apatasaurus, and good old triceratops). She tends to prefer those that are in the juvenile state. Of course when the going gets tough, Eme generally retreats to her room to host a tea party for her enormous collection of yellow kitties, of which only those that are "super soft" are invited.
Anna, ah Anna too young to know what is going on, yet old enough to want to be a part of it all. Calls dinosaurs "arrrrs" (basically a growling sound) and has decided she is more than happy for the time being to stick with her "ducks", and if any dinosaurs venture too close she has developed her own form of defense. The loudest, ear-shattering scream that renders everyone within a mile radius insane. If that fails then she goes on a physical attack grabbing fistfulls of hair and trying to leverage the best location to sink her canines into. Palentologist Grayson has unsuprisingly used her behavior as the model of many of his predators.
The joys of parenting.
I love my job.
